Plainfield
Plainfield Elementary School in Ms. Riportella's first grade class spent time this week learning about rhyming and spelling.
Ms. Riportella spent time going over what rhyming meant and she had the students practice some rhyming before their activity.
For the activity each of the students received a colored card that had a three-letter word on it.
The students were asked to walk around the classroom and find another student that had a word that rhymed with theirs.
As the students were trying to match up the cards, you could hear them spelling out the words to see if they had any common letters in them.
The students had a fun time and tried to see how many they could match before the time was up.
After the rhyming activity, students talked about what they did over the weekend with one another and then spent time practicing their writing skills by putting it down on paper.
