Fourth-grade students in Ms. Amber Phalen’s art class are bringing vibrant energy to the halls as they put the finishing touches on their drip art projects.

To spark inspiration, Ms. Phalen began the lesson with a video of Jen Stark’s mesmerizing art exhibit, which was famously featured across the screens of Times Square this past December.

Known for her colorful, layered drip style, Stark provided the perfect blueprint for the students' own creations.

After the video, the class engaged in a "round robin" discussion to share their observations and insights before diving into their work.

The classroom was a hub of focused activity as students moved through various stages of the artistic process.

Students used black markers to trace and define their fluid lines. They applied vibrant ink within specific warm or cool color palettes, enjoying the freedom to choose their own shades and sequences.

As students finished, they used their iPads to photograph their work and upload it to the Seesaw class gallery.

Many early finishers also stepped up to support their peers, helping to erase pencil guides so their classmates could focus entirely on the final coloring.

Once every piece is complete, Ms. Phalen plans to transform a school hallway into a collaborative gallery, displaying the finished drip art for the entire student body to admire.
