Welcome to Plainfield elementary school!

Dear Plainfield Families,

Welcome to the start of a brand new school year! I am honored to serve as your new principal and I can’t wait to partner with you in creating a joyful, inclusive, and thriving school learning environment for all our Pumas.  The halls are buzzing with energy and anticipation, and we are all ready to embark on another year of learning, growth, and discovery.

Our dedicated team of teachers and staff has been working diligently to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that not only challenges students academically but also encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

To our parents and guardians, your partnership is invaluable. We encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year, whether by attending school events, volunteering, or simply communicating with your child's teachers. Your involvement is crucial to your child's success, and we are always here to support you.

Let's make this a year of remarkable achievements, new friendships, and unforgettable memories. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful things we will accomplish together.

School Expectations

To help students be successful in school, we provide clear and consistent expectations for behavior through a system called PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).

This not only allows for success it helps support equitable practices.

The behavior expectations should be followed in all settings throughout the school day.  On the bus, in the classroom, at lunch and recess.  The expectations keep all students safe and attend to the their learning.

The guiding principles are for students to:

  • Be Responsible

  • Be Respectful

  • Be Safe

  • Be Ready to learn

Please note that in addition to inclement winter weather conditions, e-learning days may be called for various other reasons including flooding, cold weather or a burst pipe at one of our schools, for example.
