Maine Township Wellness Night (Grades K-5)

We invite all youth in grades K-5 to join us for MaineStay's Social Wellness Nights. Whether your child is looking to make new friends, unleash their creativity, or simply have a great time, our event offers something for everyone. Together, let's empower our youth to thrive socially and emotionally! 

The fee for each session is only $5 for residents and $15 for non-residents (space permitting) and includes pizza, drinks, and all materials. A discount will be automatically applied for parents registering multiple children at the same time.

ELC Resource Fair / Food Truck Round Up!

The Jane L. Westerhold Early Learning Center will host a Community Resource Fair from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please enter Door 11 on the Forest Avenue side of the building. 

That same evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the City of Des Plaines will host its first summer series Food Truck Round Up event on the Forest Elementary School grounds. The Food Truck Round Up will feature live music, games and more.

The Community Resource Fair will host community agencies for the purpose of bringing in and showcasing agencies that support the students of Des Plaines. The Des Plaines Public Library, Des Plaines Park District, Self-Help Closet & Pantry of Des Plaines, Des Plaines History Center, Life Span, Access to Care, Citizens Utility Board, and the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines, are among some of the organizations that will be in attendance that day.

Memorial Day Ceremony

A Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at Lake Park on Monday, May 27 beginning at 11 a.m. to recognize all the men and women who served and died in all our wars. All are welcome to attend.

Calling all students, grades K-8, to join us for the third annual KIWANIS CUP! Compete with your classmates to race against challengers from other local schools.

Race distance is approximately 1 mile.

Each runner will recieve a t-shirt representing their school color. (K-5 note: Colors are based on the Middle
School they will attend)

Register before the May 13 deadline to receive a shirt. POST RACE PARTY: Stick around after for Family Day at Lake Park, including live entertainment, games, and food until noon.
