National Night Out is an annual nationwide tradition that brings neighbors and first responders together to build stronger, more connected communities.

Join the Des Plaines Police and Fire Departments on Tuesday, August 4, for a free, family-friendly event featuring specialty vehicles, a K-9 demonstration, food trucks, games, live entertainment, activities, and displays from local community groups. It’s a great opportunity to meet the people who protect and serve Des Plaines and learn more about the equipment and services that help keep the community safe.

The event will take place across the grounds of Forest Elementary School (1375 S. 5th Ave.) and Algonquin Middle School (767 E. Algonquin Rd.). The event footprint spans both school campuses and the adjoining green space. Free parking is available at both schools, with parking lot entrances off Forest Avenue and 5th Avenue. Guests may enter the event from either campus.

Limited picnic table seating will be available, and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Portable restrooms and indoor facilities will be available. 

No alcohol is permitted on School District property.

Enjoy a fun evening under the stars with friends and family — snacks and drinks will be available, and lifeguards will be on duty for everyone’s safety. Don’t miss this unique splash of cinema and summer fun!

Join us at the Lake Park Bandshell for another exciting night of Live at the Lake featuring Classical Blast, a one-of-a-kind band that fuses classic rock with iconic classical music. Blending the sounds of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart with rock hits from the late ’60s through today, Classical Blast delivers a high-energy, genre-bending performance that truly rocks. This unique musical experience is fun, engaging, and perfect for audiences of all ages.
